SCR’s roots trace back to 1998’s “Coal Swaps” newsletter, which published coal’s first forward curve. That spirit lives on as SCR challenges closed-door pricing models and reclaims transparency for the industry.
About Our Founder
Peter Sceats — coal broker, trader, risk manager, and coal expert witness — founded the original free and fair API indices, and now SCR.
Named “Pioneer of Coal Risk” by Energy Risk Magazine, Peter served as Head of Coal at RWE and BHP Billiton and has run SceatsCoalRisk.Net for two decades consulting to national energy ministries and sovereign wealth funds to single cargo traders.
Beyond his professional achievements, Sceats is also recognized for his commitment to democracy and fair play.
